Huma Chia Energy Gel: Chia Plus (Berries & Pomegranate)

The folks over at Huma wanted to know if there was a way to naturally add electrolytes to their Original gels, and this is what they came up with. They added coconut water and sea salt, along with the chia seeds already present in the Original gel, and created Huma Plus.

These gels are made of all-natural fruit purees, cane syrup, and chia seeds. The fiber from the seeds causes a steady stream of energy to be released during exercise (so no spikes and crashes), and the 2:1 glucose: fructose ratio is great for the body to break down and use for energy during a workout or a race! The gels also contain all 9 essential amino acids, and they are both gluten-free and dairy-free, as well as vegan-friendly!

 

RECOMMENDED USE

The sugar/carbs kick and sustained energy make Huma a great choice for before or during exercise. Huma recommends 1 gel 15 minutes before exercise, and then 1 gel every 30-45 minutes during exercise. Always consume with water. They have a very similar nutrition profile to our Honey Stinger  gels, so it just depends which brand you prefer!
